Emily Earns

Emily Earns never dreamed she would end up in Alaska. She was born in Battle Creek and raised in our very own Marshall, Michigan. She graduated in 1997 from Marshall High School, and moved on to Central Michigan University to specialize in special education. When she was offered a job in Alaska, she was familiar with the area because she traveled with her dad, Dale Rosene (better known as Ishtar). She came back two more times on the Alaska Great Lakes trip. Emily has always had a love for Alaska.
Emily enjoys spending her time here in Alaska fishing and hunting. Her husband actually was the one to teach her how to hunt. Clint Earns met Emily on an internet dating site. They hit it off immediately. Clint is a general contractor and together they have built three houses and are working on their forth. They have one son together, Daniel Boone Earns. Everybody on the Alaska Great Lakes Trip has gotten to know him pretty well. Daniel Boone is turning four on August 7th. He was born on a boat. The Earns named their general contract business after him.
After Boone was born, Emily decided to open a day care at a local school and it took off in a hurry. She really enjoys working with special education kids.
Emily was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She told me that it is really frustrating and hard at times. However, she is determined to overcome it. It’s the positive attitude that we see all the time on the AGLP trip. She’s still out there doing all the things she loves to do like camping. Fishing, and hunting in the summer and skiing, snowboarding, and riding four wheelers in the winter.
Emily earns and her family love living in Alaska. So far, I wouldn’t blame them. Alaska is beautiful and majestic. It makes you never want to leave.
